Jeff Link is a well-regarded political and public affairs consultant with a strong background in state and federal government in the United States and abroad. His firsthand experience in government, paid media strategy, research and crisis communications makes him an ideal advisor for clients in the private and public sectors.
Link got his political start working in the Pennsylvania statehouse under Speaker Robert W. O’Donnell from 1991-1994. In 1995, Jeff successfully directed the Virginia House of Delegates efforts to retain their majority. He went on to manage Senator Tom Harkin’s 1996 reelection campaign, before serving in Washington, D.C. as Harkin’s Chief of Staff from 1997 until 1999. Jeff returned to Iowa that year to obtain his law degree from Drake University where he won the National Moot Court Championship in 2001 and graduated with honors in 2002.
While in law school, Jeff created his namesake political consulting firm, Link Strategies. Since then, he has worked with a host of high profile clients such as managing the Iowa Gore-Lieberman presidential campaign (2000) and Senator Tom Harkin’s successful re-election efforts (2002 and 2008). Link also served as a media consultant to Barack Obama’s 2008 Presidential Campaign, coordinating branding, all paid media and polling in 25 states. In recent years, Jeff has worked internationally lending his talents to campaign efforts in the Caribbean, eastern Europe and Africa.
Bonnie Campbell was elected Attorney General of Iowa in 1990 and served through 1994. She is the only woman to have held that office in the state of Iowa. Campbell focused on protecting Iowa’s consumers, strengthening the state’s domestic violence laws and increasing funding for victim compensation programs and shelters.
Campbell joined the Clinton Administration in 1994 as one of its key officials on crime and gender equality issues. In 1995, she was selected by the President to head the Justice Department’s newly created Office on Violence Against Women where she managed a $1.6 billion program and emerged as a national leader for her work to reform the country’s criminal justice system. Bonnie’s effectiveness in that position led Time Magazine to name her one of the 25 most influential people in America in 1997. During her time in Washington, Campbell was a delegate to the United Nations’ Fourth World Conference on Women, and was appointed by Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to represent the United States in international negotiations on the creation of an International Criminal Court.
In 2007, Campbell was appointed by the Governor to the Iowa Board of Regents. She now advises colleges and universities on Title IX and related issues, including conducting campus climate assessments, independent investigations of sexual harassment and assault, training, and communications.
Bonnie now brings her significant skills in government affairs, issue advocacy and crisis management to LPCA’s client companies. Bonnie earned her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, and law degree from Drake University.

LPCA Public Strategies is a firm that grew out of Link Strategies, LLC. The original firm has provided political campaigns with decades of experience and leadership, and continues to provide clients with general campaign consulting, management, communications and research services.
However, there was a clear need for an additional firm which solely focused on connecting corporate clients with policy leaders and the public. LPCA Public Strategies was born by bringing former Iowa Attorney General Bonnie Campbell and Link Strategies President Jeff Link. The partners have since gone on to retain a talented team of public affairs professionals that each offer unique skillsets ideally suited for client companies of all sizes.
